This is the first year I have attempted a 365 (a photo every day for a year) and I am proud to have actually made it through the first week!
I have wanted to do a Project 365 for a few years now, but one of the things that has held me back was the notion that every image I took had to be GOOD, or new, or creative: a daily quest for the perfect photo. Looking at other photographers sites where they were putting up amazing images day after day actually started to do the opposite of inspiring me - it discouraged me. For me, there's nothing like a bit of pressure to suck all the joy out of photography.
However, all that pressure comes from me. My family doesn't care if the images I take of them are perfect executed, and I'm pretty sure most of you reading this don't either! Every so often I think we to pull back and remind ourselves of what we want to achieve and why, and for me, a 365 isn't about perfection, or being creative, or shooting to a theme, or even improving my skills. I just want to take a photo a day. Pretty simple when you get right down to it.
So this is my 365 "rules". Some days I'll just take a quick snap my with iPhone, with others I might put a bit more thought and time into it, sometimes it will be to record a moment, and other days it will be to try something new, and some days it will be a snap of my morning coffee because I can't be bothered to think about anything else. Whatever the final photo looks like or is of, my goal is simply a photo a day, no more. A totally random imperfect 365. Lovely.
So….here's days 1 - 7.
