FACEBOOK GROUP RULES

The Live Snap Love FREE Facebook community is a group specifically for new and emerging photographers, who want to connect with people who are on the same journey as them. It’s a place where you can share your photos, your photography dreams, or even your steps toward starting your own photography business. All in a safe environment where everyone has similar goals and it is in or around the same level as you.

In order to preserve the quality of the group at ALL times. there are several rules that we will enforce on a daily basis.

Please read through all of them as we roll with a zero-tolerance policy and you will be removed and banned if you break ANY of the rules.

Now you know just how important these are, let’s dive in!

1. NO PROMOTIONS OR LINKS OF ANY KIND.

This group was created for fans of Live Snap Love so posting links to competing websites really isn't cool! Therefore please do not post links to other photography related brands, websites, products, courses, workshops, free classes, creativity challenges, or Facebook groups.

Because the line gets all blurry if we allow some links and not others, ALL posts directing people to other websites will be deleted without warning, and repeat offenders will be removed from the group.

2. NO SELF PROMOTION. EVER.

There is also absolutely no self-promotion allowed unless explicitly stated or on one of our dedicated "Follow Friday" threads.  Basically, it's not nice to go into someone else's house and set up shop :-)

So, what do we consider self promotion?

- Selling or linking to anything - that means your website, blog, links to products, services, courses, events and programs…

- Promoting your blog, blog posts, website or events

- Posting a link to your social profiles such as Instagram, Pinterest, FB Page, FB Group or even your personal FB profile.

- Posting affiliate links.

- Posting an image and then saying that you will "maybe write a blog post on how you edited it soon" or something similar.   These will be deleted and you will be removed....even if you have the best of intentions.

**Note: I may break my own rule and promote something if I feel as though it is of service to the group. I reserve that right as it is my group and community"

3. NO POSTING OF VIDEOS

No posting or sharing your own videos (live or pre-recorded)—whether it’s from your personal profile, your FB page, your YouTube account or your website.

We do not have the time to watch your videos to make sure they are promo-free or in good taste, which is why there are no videos allowed.

4. NO REQUESTS TO PM YOU

No answering questions with "I can help! I'll send you a PM" or "Send me a PM for the info"

Your comments (and YOU) will be removed.

5. BE KIND, HELPFUL AND RESPECTFUL

We are all here to share our photos in a safe environment, so please help keep it this way. If someone asks for critique on an image, remember to craft your words with kindness. It takes a lot of courage to share your work openly, and I want everyone to feel happy doing so.

6. RESPECT THAT OCCASIONALLY WE WILL TURN OFF COMMENTS

If you post an image and it already has a certain number of comments saying how much they love it, I will close the comments to it so as to make sure that other photos get a chance to be seen.  Your photo will still be seen but comments will be turned off.

Also, once you have a question answered one way or another, then I will turn off comments to that too - again, it's so that other posts get seen and responded to too.

7. DON’T PM AUDREY, OR TAG HER FOR PERSONAL HELP (OR ANY ADMINS / MODERATORS)

Please do not tag me (Audrey!)  for personalised  help or to answer a specific question for you in this free community.

I have two other support groups (for my Auto to Awesome and Launch Into Lightroom students) where I do offer one-on-one personalised help, and show up reguarly for live Q&A sessions etc. In order to make sure that my paying students are supported first and foremost, I have to limit my time in the free group as I only have so much personal bandwidth!

If you are a student, make sure you post your question in the student groups, where I can give you one on one support - Please note I won't answer your question if you post it in the free group, even if you are a student.

I also ask that you respect the time of myself, and any Admins and Moderators and not PM us through Facebook for personal help as I / they will not respond.

If you have a question about why your post was deleted, or why you were removed from the group, or why a comment was deleted - it's simple - it’s because you broke the rules :-)

8. RESPECT THAT THE GROUP IS FOR NEW AND EMERGING PHOTOGRAPHERS

Although you may still join the group if you are already an experienced or professional photographer, I would ask that you please limit the number of images you post each week - although for many it can be motivating to see high quality, professional photographs, for many others it can have the opposite effect and feel more intimidating.

Remember, the group is meant to be for new and emerging photographers only, so I want to make sure that photographers of ALL skill levels feel comfortable here, and not as though they are "not good enough" to post - and seeing a wall of beautifully lit, professionally edited photos might not be conducive to that :-)

Thanks for your understanding.

If you don't agree with ALL of these rules, kindly remove yourself from the group - no harm, no foul, this just isn't the group for you.

If you’ve read all of these rules and still want to be a part of what this group is all about…then WELCOME!

We are excited to get to know you!

(If you haven't yet requested access, make sure you answer the three quick questions otherwise you won't be approved)

FINALLY, ONE TIP ON HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THE GROUP!

Show up each day for a set amount of time and then get back to learning your craft and taking photos.

If you’re living in this group, then you aren’t doing what you should be doing - growing your photography skills.  Being an armchair photographer and trying to find tips and tricks in a FB group is truly not the way to get better at photography, sorry. (Harsh, but true!) So use it as PART of your arsenal toward getting better photos, and you'll be golden.

Now let’s connect and have some fun, shall we?

Take me back to the Live Snap Love Lounge!
