FACEBOOK GROUP RULES
Hey there! Thank you for being part of the Live Snap Love Facebook community! This group is specifically for new and emerging photographers.
In order to preserve the quality of the group at all times, there are a few rules that we enforce on a daily basis. If you don’t abide by the rules, then you are subject to removal from the group (which wouldn’t be good, because I really think you’ll want to be part of this amazing community!)
Now you know just how important these are, let’s dive in!
1. NO LINKS OF ANY KIND.
This group was created for fans of Live Snap Love so posting links to competing websites, blog posts or tutorials really isn't cool!
Therefore please do not post links to other photography related brands, blogs, websites, products, courses, tutorials, lessons, workshops, free classes, creativity challenges, or Facebook groups.
Because the line gets blurry if we allow some links and not others , we took the step of banning ALL links. This has REALLY helped keep the group non-spammy, and discourages those that are only out to self promote! In other words, it's what helps us be the kind warm hearted place we are known for, so we do enforce this daily.
2. NO SELF PROMOTION. EVER.
There is also absolutely no self-promotion allowed unless explicitly stated. Basically, it's not nice to go into someone else's house and set up shop :-)
So, what do we consider self promotion?
- Selling or linking to anything - that means your website, blog, links to products, tutorials, services, courses, events and programs…
- Promoting your blog, blog posts, website or events
- Posting a link to your social profiles such as Instagram, Pinterest, FB Page, FB Group or even your personal FB profile.
- Posting affiliate links.
- Posting an image and then saying that you will "maybe write a blog post on how you edited it soon" or something similar. These will be deleted and you will be removed....even if you have the best of intentions.
3. NO POSTING OF VIDEOS
No posting or sharing your own videos (live or pre-recorded)—whether it’s from your personal profile, your FB page, your YouTube account or your website.
We do not have the time to watch your videos to make sure they are promo-free or in good taste, which is why there are no videos allowed.
4. NO REQUESTS TO PM YOU
No answering questions with "I can help! I'll send you a PM" or "Send me a PM for the info"
Your comments (and YOU) will be removed instantly. It’s rude to have sneaky side conversations - don’t do it.
5. BE KIND, HELPFUL AND RESPECTFUL
We are all here to share our photos in a safe environment, so please help keep it this way. If someone asks for critique on an image, remember to craft your words with kindness. It takes a lot of courage to share your work openly, and I want everyone to feel happy doing so.
6. RESPECT THAT OCCASIONALLY WE WILL TURN OFF COMMENTS
If you post an image and it already has a certain number of comments saying how much they love it, I will close the comments to it so as to make sure that other photos get a chance to be seen. Your photo will still be seen but comments will be turned off.
Also, once you have a question answered one way or another, then I will turn off comments to that too - again, it's so that other posts get seen and responded to too.
7. DON’T PM AUDREY (OR ANY ADMINS / MODERATORS)
Please do not send private messages to Audrey Ann, Kim Aguada, or Lisa Mark Hines (the admins and moderators of the group). We prefer to communicate via email to keep things organised because our admins use their personal profiles for our Facebook group. Thanks for understanding!
8. NO NUDITY, PORNOGRAPHIC MATERIAL, OR IMAGES THAT MAY OFFEND
9. NO LINK SHARING THREADS
A “link sharing” thread is when you create a new thread and ask people to share a link to their Pinterest profile, Instagram, etc. Admins may create these threads for your benefit from time to time, so there is no need to create your own.
If you don't agree with ALL of these rules, kindly remove yourself from the group - no harm, no foul, this just isn't the group for you.
If you’ve read all of these rules and still want to be a part of what this group is all about…then WELCOME!
We are excited to get to know you!
